June 30 – July 5 Summer camp with Troop 39! (campers may stay thru Sat at no charge) Camp Information: See the camp website www.ctrivers.org/Camping/JuneNorcrossWebsterScoutReservation/ for more information pertaining to summer camp, and www.meritbadge.org for descriptions and requirements for all the merit badges offered. Tip for success: once merit badge decisions are made, reserve the merit badge pamphlets with the Troop Librarian or purchase them at the Scout Store. Read the requirements before going to camp, there is often some preparation that should be done ahead. Required Forms: Ø Troop Registration Form, handed in with payment Ø BSA Annual Health and Medical Record * Part A, B, C and D are required * Part C physician signature only may be substituted by a SIGNED State of Connecticut blue form; Part C still needs to be completed Ø Physicals for scouts and adults must be dated after 6/30/12 Ø Medication Authorization form, if applicable – one form per medication Ø Allergy Treatment Plan, if applicable Again this year, RN Nancy Callaghan is donating her time to review health forms. This process saves everyone a long wait in line and potential of your son being turned away from camp the first day! Please note the deadlines and polices. Trail to Eagle: Trail to Eagle week is a specialty camp for scouts close to Eagle rank. This year, the troop is attending the same week at JNW so all troop scouts may take advantage of the extra merit badges being offered. T2E scouts have the option to tent with the troop or at the T2E campsite. There is an additional $25 charge for tenting with T2E. ($375 total cost).
VOLUNTEER!!!! Years of experience have proven that it is crucial that we maintain a 1 adult: 5 scouts ratio for a positive, safe and productive camp experience. On average, Troop 39 sends 20 scouts to camp each year, which means we need at least 4 adults at camp at all times. Please consider volunteering a day, night or more to support our scouts – and have a great time enjoying summer and the outdoors! The troop covers the camp cost of adult volunteers, but please note that health forms are required for any adult staying overnight. If you are able to help, or have questions about volunteering, please see Tom or Danielle. Thank you!
