*Camp Cost: Troop 39 will pay deposits to hold spaces at an early bird rate: $405 this year. Payment in full and paperwork must be received by 5/9 meeting to secure a spot. After 5/15, the camp fee cost charged by Council is $455 (additional fee does not pertain to new Crossover scouts). Camperships are available for anyone for whom this cost presents a difficulty.
Individual Scout Account (ISA) funds earned by wreath sales can be used, please note on registration form. If you would like to pay for camp using a credit card, follow the link on the troop site. Important: PayPal charges a 2.9% credit card plus $ .30 transaction fee so your credit card will be charged accordingly.
Merit Badges: Read the requirements before signing up for badges www.meritbadge.org. Pay particular attention to any age restrictions. Pre-requisites for many of the badges are listed online (JNW and troop site). Once merit badge decisions are made, reserve the merit badge pamphlets with the Troop Librarian (Conor MacCluggage), purchase them at the Scout Store or download online.
Years of experience have proven that it is crucial that we maintain a 1 adult: 5 scouts ratio for a positive, safe and productive camp experience -- which means we need minimum 3-4 adults at camp at all times. Please consider volunteering a day, night or more to support our scouts – and have a great time enjoying summer, the outdoors, and camp food! The troop covers the camp cost of adult volunteers.
Please note that health forms are required for any adult staying overnight.
As with scouts, physician signature must be dated after 6/25/16
If you are able to help, or have questions about volunteering, please see Mike or Danielle. Thank you!
Check out all the specialty camps offered! $100 discount on additional week of camp.
First Class Path: This is a specialty program recommended for scouts who are attending JNW Boy Scout Camp for the first time (typically scouts who have just crossed over from the Pack). See the description (attached) for the scout skills and badge focus provided.
Trail to Eagle: Trail to Eagle week is a specialty camp for scouts closer to Eagle rank. It's offered at JNW the week of 6/25-6/30. Trail to Eagle (T2E) scouts tent in a campsite with other scouts in the program. Scouts have access to work on several more Eagle-required badges, and can meet with advisors to discuss Eagle projects and other details. There is a $100 discount for attending a second week.
